You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the WATERFRONT SUPPORT DIVISION, ENGINEERING and PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will direct the functions of the Trouble Desk and staff of mechanical or electrical/electronics engineers and technicians.
- →You will provide coordination with other shipyard codes for the prompt resolution of waterfront problems outside the capability of the Waterfront Trouble Desk.
- →You will direct and coordinate the establishment of new policies, instructions and procedures for the analysis, progress, and control of the workload of the Trouble Desk.
- →You will provide review of work accomplished by employees; evaluating their performance; and make decisions on engineering or other problems presented by the Operations Department for the assigned ship's availability's.
- →You will write correspondence to identify potential technical issues for ship repair or maintenance projects.
- →You will brief management officials on the progress towards achieving engineering project objectives.
- →You will provide engineering services to manage the Engineering and Planning effort for Refueling overhauls.
