About the Role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Test and Work Control Branch of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY. ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.
What You'll Do
- →You will oversee and monitor testing and ensure the safety of the ship during testing operations.
- →You will Plan, Develop and Coordinate the testing instructions of a complete Test Program.
- →You will coordinate with other Shipyard organizations to provide the support needed to conduct tests and operations.
- →You will provide first line supervision for the engineers and/or technicians assigned to the branch and increase employee engagement and teamwork in the branch.
- →You will devise work methods to modify or improve engineering system processes or procedures while ensuring the safety of employees.
- →You will assign work to team members to provide tasking based on priorities for completion.
- →You will provide final Shipyard approval for Test Procedures.
- →You will review formal reports and assure preparations are completed, inspected, and certified when required.
- →You will determine special equipment required to perform tests on shipboard structural systems.
- →You will recommend engineering system process changes to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- ✓ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
- ✓ICTAP candidates must provide copies of all of the following documentation at the time of application:?1) agency notice; 2) most recent performance appraisal; and 3) most recent SF-50 or notification of personnel action that includes position, grade level, and duty location.
