This position is part of the WAPA-Upper Great Plains. As a Supervisory Electrical Engineer, you will be supervising Foreman and Journeyman level Electricians, as well as an Engineer, and formulating and executing a program, including budget, to maintain all substations under the North Dakota Maintenance Office across four or more field locations supporting a large geographic area. *This is not a remote position. You will be required to be physically present at the Bismarck, ND duty location.*
What You'll Do
- →Plan, direct, and be responsible for the development and execution of a long-range preventive maintenance program, including budget formulation involving high voltage substation facilities incorporating the latest industry techniques, practices and procedures, as well as a practical application of electrical engineering of theories, principles and concepts.
- →Advise Construction Engineering Department during constructions of major power facilities as to practicability of changes from stipulated designs as such changes relate to safety, operations and maintenance.
- →Establish maintenance policies, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with NERC/MRO/WECC standards, and other reliability standards as applicable.
- →Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, prepare schedules for completion of work, and assign work based on priorities, consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of the employee.
- →Identify developmental training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
- →Find ways to improve production or increase the quality of work directed.
- →Be responsible for being knowledgeable about management's role and responsibilities in Labor Management relations.
