About the Role

This position is located at the Child Development Center, Naval Hospital Guam. The mission of Joint Region Marianas (JRM) Quality of Life (QOL) Programs (J9) is to provide the highest quality programs and services to the military community through self-sustainment across all QOL programs.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties and responsibilities are summarized below.
  • Supervisory: Directs work to be accomplished by staff.
  • Assigns work based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of assignments, and staff capabilities.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews of staff.
  • Ensures staff receives proper training to fulfill requirements of their positions.
  • Addresses potential disciplinary and/or performance issues timely and takes appropriate, corrective action(s) as necessary.
  • Supports Commander, Navy Installations Command's (CNIC) Equal Employment.
  • Opportunity (EEO) policy; fosters a work environment free of discrimination, harassment, and/or reprisal; and ensures equitable treatment of all staff.
  • Personnel Management.
  • Supervises an assigned team of direct care professionals and volunteers.
  • Initiates and implements personnel actions and supports the CYP Director in order to assure quality related to selection, assignments, training, promotions, disciplinary actions, and recognition of employees and volunteers.
  • Establishes local performance standards for employees and volunteers using established standards and requirements and rates employees' performance.
  • Program Operations.
  • Develops the staffing schedule to ensure staff: child ratio compliance, supervision of children and youth, planning/training time is integrated, and overall classroom/activity area support occurs.

Requirements

  • In accordance with DoDI 6060.2, must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The OPM qualification standard for the 1702 series specifies the amounts of experience and/or education required to qualify for this position.
  • The Military Child Care Act requires national accreditation of CY programs.
  • Minimum education requirements are required by the accrediting body.
