About the Role
The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making. This position is with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Field Operations, San Francisco Region, Division of Federal/State Programs.
What You'll Do
- →This position serves as a Branch Chief for Federal/State programs in the San Francisco Region and performs the following duties: Manages and evaluates data collection and editing activities for Federal/State programs.
- →Initiates and develops useful working relationships with state agencies responsible for conducting Federal/State programs.
- →Serves as the principal Bureau contact to the participating state agencies regarding the technical and administrative aspects pertaining to the Federal/State programs.
- →Provides authoritative consultative technical services to states and employers in the region on the Federal/State programs and the statutory requirements for participation in them.
- →Supervises at least 25% of the time: Provides administrative and technical direction to the staff in the assigned branch.
- →Assures that staff follows BLS Agency, Division, and Office policies, procedures, standards, and agency policy.
