About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as a Supervisor Dental Hygienist at the medical Treatment Facility.
- →Establish health and education programs designed to enhance the dental health and wellness of the community.
- →Schedule and/or conduct monthly inventories of available home care aids at on-base facilities.
- →Keep employees informed of management goals and objectives, as well as of changes in regulations, policies and procedures governing the work.
- →Explain performance expectations to employees and provide regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
- →Perform specialized dental hygiene procedures on patients with and without topical/local anesthetics.
- →Plan and carry out dental hygiene treatment according to patient needs coordinating independently with medical/dental personnel as necessary.
- →Provide therapeutic care in cases of acute gigivitis and periodontal disease.
- →Refers abnormailities such as cavities, traumatic occlusion, and suspicious lesions to the dentist.
- →Explain to patients the causes of periodontal disease and tooth decay and educates them on the need for daily oral hygiene to include brushing and flossing techniques.
