About the Role
The Supervisory Dental Assistant is responsible for the supervision, administrative management, and direction of dental assistants. The incumbent may be delegated full administrative and professional responsibility for planning and directing the dental assisting activities for the service or equivalent unit at an independent outpatient clinic.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Issues minor disciplinary actions (warnings, reprimands) and recommend actions for more serious cases.
- →Interviews candidates for dental assistant positions and recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment.
- →Recommends awards and recognition for staff performance.
- →Monitors work in progress to ensure dental assistants follow dentist instructions.
- →Consults with dental chief or supervisory dentist on major issues that cannot be resolved independently.
- →Provides written instructions, reference materials, and background information as needed.
- →Serves as liaison between scheduler and dentist to ensure efficient use of patient care time and reduce missed opportunities.
- →Ensures dental treatment areas are properly set up and secured daily; delegate tasks as needed.
- →Monitors dental equipment function; request repairs or replacement.
- →Prepares and track electronic work orders.
- →Assists in developing equipment requests and justifications based on workload, and approve leave for dental assistants.
- →Conducts annual performance evaluations and appraisals, and schedule clinic coverage for staff dentists.
- →Conducts periodic meetings with assistants.
- →Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday thru Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Requirements
