What You'll Do
- →Serves as the department head in the Correctional Services department at one of the Bureau of Prisons most complex correctional facilities.
- →Responsible for institutional security, inmate conduct and discipline, inmate work, control of hazardous tools and materials, safety, sanitation, control and use of institution vehicles, and key control.
- →Also inspects facilities, observes personnel and inmates from the standpoint of security, morale and employee-inmate relations, and overall program coordination.
- →Serves as an advisor to the Warden and his staff in the formulation and implementation of institution policies, procedures and programs.
- →Must integrate these policies and procedures into the overall operations of the facility, as well as the correctional department, and keep management advised of activities effecting institution programs.
- →Along with all other correctional institution employees, the incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
- →The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
Requirements

- ✓Be rated well-qualified for the position, scoring at least half of the total possible points for the vacancy KSAs or competencies; and 3.
- ✓Submit the appropriate documentation to support your CTAP eligibility: A copy of the agency notice (i.e., separation notice or agency RIF letter), Most recent performance appraisal, and Most recent SF-50 showing current/former position, grade, promotion potential, and duty location.
