About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Supervisory Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Off-Shift) has full supervisory responsibility for a large staff of non-supervisory personnel.
- →The incumbent performs the full range of supervisory duties, including but not limited to: Plans and schedules on-going work.
- →Adjusts staffing levels or work procedures.
- →Chooses methods for achieving work goals, objectives and management strategies.
- →Responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable levels of performance; assures corrective action is initiated when test performance deviates from established performance specifications.
- →Approves and certifies Annual Leave (AL) and Sick Leave (SL) for the Pay Period.
- →Assures corrective action is initiated when test performance deviates from established performance specifications.
- →Assures orientation, training and competency assessment of staff has been performed and appropriately documented.
- →Implements and monitors quality management activities.
- →Works in conjunction with the section Technical Specialist/Lead Technologist and Pathologist to analyze emerging trends and technology and adopts appropriate methods and testing.
- →Performs the full range of supervisory duties, including but not limited to, recommendations for appointments; planning, scheduling and assigning work; setting priorities; evaluating the work of subordinates; performance evaluations; providing advice and counsel.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
