About the Role
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, New Orleans Field Office, Area Port of Mobile, Port of Pascagoula, MS.
What You'll Do
- →Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to manage one or more national programs in order to help to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering/exiting the U.S.
- →Apply for this exciting opportunity to direct programs that strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security.
- →This position starts at a salary of $109,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to$142,199.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
- →Salary above includes Special Rate for Customs and Border Protection Officer positions in the Rest of the United States (RUS) locality pay area.
- →In this first-line supervisory position you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals detecting and preventing terrorists and instruments of terror from entering the U.S.
- →Typical work assignments include: Overseeing all operational, support, and administrative functions at a small port of entry (air, land, or sea), including prearrival risk assessment, primary and secondary inspections, investigations, and intelligence collection/analysis in both inbound and outbound environments.
- →Directing response operations, employing appropriate use of force in accordance with policy, and ensuring the safety of the public and CBP personnel Interpreting and applying laws and regulations of multiple federal agencies related to admissibility of persons, cargo, and conveyances; import/export requirements; international mail compliance; and arrival/departure of vessels and aircraft.
- →Setting priorities, evaluate performance, address conduct and integrity issues, identify training needs, and implement disciplinary actions as appropriate.

Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
- ✓Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess the Ability to operate a Government Owned Vehicle.
- ✓A valid, non-restricted driver's license is required.

- ✓Selectee(s) are required to attend and successfully complete 101-days of paid training at the CBP Field Operations Academy (FOA) in Glynco, GA.
- ✓Prior to arriving at the FOA, selectee's must complete approximately 7-10 days of pre-academy training.
- ✓Upon successful completion of FOA training, selectee's must complete an additional 14-17 weeks of post-academy training the selectee(s) assigned duty station.
- ✓You may be required to successfully complete the training requirement as a condition of employment.
- ✓Failure to successfully complete the required course(s) of training in accordance with CBP standards and policies will result in placement into either a former or different position, demotion, or separation as determined by management and appropriate procedures.
