About the Role
This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) in Manhattan, Kansas. In this position, you will be responsible for supervising and managing the various functions involved in the management of building automation, HVAC, and refrigeration services.
What You'll Do
- →Oversees the operation, maintenance, repair and monitoring of Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC systems, and refrigerator systems.
- →Develops repair projects as part of the site-wide Capital Projects and Repair Plan (CPRP) and the Repair and Maintenance (R and M) program as relates to BAS, HVAC and refrigeration services.
- →Manages Architecture-Engineer (A-E) services for projects and construction/repair contracts.
- →Supervises multiple teams of federal and contractor staff working on three different shifts responsible for providing programming and integration of large scale, complex HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- →Oversees the performance of operations and maintenance and provides input into the development of the utility budgets for facilities.
Requirements

- ✓Subject to one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period unless prior service is creditable.
- ✓New USDA supervisors must successfully complete all components of the required training program before the end of their probationary period.
