This position is at the Department of Veteran Affairs Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. The incumbent serves as the supervisor for the Electronics Section and Information Systems (Networking) Biomedical Equipment Support Specialists and Biomedical Engineers within the Healthcare Technology Management Department.
What You'll Do
- →Acts as a staff professional consultant and advisor on professional biomedical engineering matters to top management, and high level medical and administrative staff, and has responsibility for development and management of a complex, professional, highly technical, Healthcare Technology Management program.
- →Responsible for setting/adjusting priorities, assigning workload, and setting schedules.
- →Responsible for overseeing Cybersecurity requirements for networked medical devices.
- →Responsible for overseeing medical device hazards and recalls.
- →Responsible for managing medical equipment maintenance contracts.
- →Planning, organizing, reviewing, installing/implementing Medical Equipment capital assets.
- →Creation and modification of all policies and procedures for medical equipment that meet or exceed The Joint commission (TJC), NFPA, FDA, SMDA, or VA standards, including annual reviews, performance improvement, and implementation.
- →Advising and collaborating with Service Chiefs, facility leadership, and other stakeholders to assess opportunities and goals to improve patient care, workload/workflow, and cost efficiency.
- →Participates as a technical advisor, supporting new equipment purchasing through application of advanced theories, principles, concepts, and practices of Biomedical Engineering, as well as awareness of changes in technology, during planning, evaluation, and installation/implementation of new systems/equipment.

Requirements
