As a Supervisory AST, Structural Dynamics Branch Chief you will be responsible for overall leadership, coordination, implementation of mission specific launch vehicle insight and approval, launch vehicle certification for the coupled loads, dynamic environments, and strength analysis teams. These teams perform complex analytical tasks focused on the behavior of launch vehicle structural elements in flight using detailed review and high-fidelity modeling for independent verification/validation.
What You'll Do
- →Effectively interfacing with all levels of management in both government and industry as an expert regarding launch vehicle and spacecraft flight structures analysis.
- →Formulating, planning and implementing advancements in capability associated with flight structures analysis that improve quality, reduce cost, and/or enhance reliability of launch services.
- →Leading the hiring of new employees and perform administrative oversight of a team of 20+ engineers/analysts.
- →Leading, analyzing, planning, implementing and integrating launch vehicle structural dynamics, coupled loads, and strength/stress analyses during development, payload integration, vehicle manufacturing, and launch.
- →Leading, planning, organizing, and implementing launch vehicle and spacecraft flight structures analysis processes, including the determination of when to implement peer reviews, modeling, and tool development and usage.
- →Organizing, prioritizing, tasking and leading an analytical team in performing advanced analysis and launch service acquisition for the structural dynamics, coupled loads, and strength/stress disciplines.
- →Performing a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

- ✓If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
- ✓Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
