About the Role
This position is located in the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's (PBGC), Office of Policy & External Affairs (OPEA), Policy Research and Analysis Department (PRAD), Research Analysis & Policy Integration (RAPID).
What You'll Do
- →The candidate selected for this position will: Manage RAPID's actuarial research program, including supervising the development, maintenance and analysis of data sets used by PBGC and the issuing of studies and reports.
- →Provide technical assistance on highly complex pension and actuarial issues including the specification of emerging and rapidly changing legislative and regulatory proposals.
- →Ensures proper interpretation and implementation of actuarial recommendations in proposed legislation.
- →Responds to technical inquiries from many sources to provide them with authoritative guidance and technical assistance.
- →Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates; develops performance standards and evaluates work performance of subordinates.
Requirements
- ✓In order to qualify for this position, you must possess the following education: A bachelor's degree that included courses in actuarial science, mathematics, relevant statistics, business, finance, economics, insurance, or computer science totaling at least 24 semester hours.
- ✓This course work must have included a minimum of 12 semester hours of mathematics that included differential and integral calculus and one or more courses in mathematics for which these calculus courses were prerequisites.
- ✓Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications.
- ✓Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.
- ✓Actuaries currently in the 1510 Actuary series do not need to provide a transcript.
