About the Role
This position is located in the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's (PBGC), Office of Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Financial Operations Department (FOD), Controller Operations Division (COD), Investment Accounting Branch (IAB).
What You'll Do
- →The candidate selected for this position will: Oversee, direct and manage proper accounting treatment for the assets of terminated plans prior to trusteeship by PBGC.
- →Provide investment expertise in directing and coordinating the work of employees, ensuring completion of tasks, assuring accuracy, production, and agency goals.

- →Conduct risk management over reporting, accounting changes, policies and procedures, asset transfers, information systems support, budget formulation and implementation.
Requirements
- ✓In addition to meeting the specialized expereince the following education is required: Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or publicadministration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓The 24 hours mayinclude up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
- ✓(The term "accounting" means "accounting and/orauditing" in this standard.
- ✓Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/orauditor.") OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or anequivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that providedprofessional accounting knowledge.
- ✓The applicant's background must also include one of the following: 1.Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
- ✓Thiscan include up to 6 hours of business law; 2.
- ✓A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained throughwritten examination; or 3.
