About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

- →The 3B2 staff psychologist is responsible for maintaining a group schedule which adheres to VA requirements for programming as detailed in 1160.06 regulations pertaining to Inpatient Mental Health units.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Participates fully in peer review, assessing the quality of professional psychology standards provided in the organization.
- →Works with Program manager to support and guide other LIPs in preparation for accreditation and survey preparation for The Joint Commission, OIG, and any other such external entities.
- →Addresses other clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure that the mission of the service and the medical center has been satisfied.
- →Attends meetings of VAMC psychologists from across all patient care service lines to keep informed of and comply with discipline-specific requirements, including those related to privileging, continuing education, and accreditation of the training programs.
- →Develops 3B2 programing resources (e.g., 3B2 program brochure, group materials).
- →Provides a full range of psychological services as needed, including providing evidenced based psychotherapy and assessment.
- →Perform all the duties necessary for high quality, timely mental health services.
- →This position is based in Honolulu though the incumbent may be required to provide psychology services at any of the facilities within the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System including neighbor islands, Guam, Saipan and American Samoa as requested using distance technology (e.g. telehealth).
- →Has direct responsibility for aspects of 3B2 services for VA Pacific Islands Health Care System, including those conducted by psychology trainees, or members of the multidisciplinary staff under their clinical supervision.
- →Consults with and serves as a resource for other professional personnel concerning the need for and development of psychological services.
- →Consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues; routinely provides recovery-oriented consultation to Mental Health and other medical center staff.
- →Is responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system.
