About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • VA Careers - Psychologist: https://youtube.com/embed/77qHlLw9Xck Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The PTSD RRTP Staff Psychologist is primarily assigned to the Mental Health Residential Residential Treatment Program (MH RRTP) program, providing services primarily to Veterans admitted to the PTSD track.
  • Staff Psychologists diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological and/or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities and may also provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders.
  • Among the modalities provided are individual, family, and group psychotherapies.
  • The Veteran will work within a multidisciplinary treatment team and consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
  • Duties include, but are not limited, to: Clinical Responsibilities (95% time) Provides a full range of psychological assessment services and diagnoses mental health disorders, particularly for complex and unusually difficult patients with both trauma related diagnoses and co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions.
  • Independently provides case management and service coordination for Veterans assigned to include facilitating admissions, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
  • Provides education to patients, family members, and significant others.
  • Provides comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy to include CPT, PE, and WET.
  • Provides consultation to professional staff within the Dayton VA Medical Center and to community providers concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients.
  • Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for assigned caseload of patients including prompt completion of clinical reminders.
  • Functions independently as a member of the Dayton VA Medical Staff with full clinical privileges.
  • Assumes responsibility for clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation.
  • Engages in measurement-based care.
  • Provides services via telehealth, as clinically indicated.

  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
