About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

  • Staff psychologists at this level diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological and/or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities, provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders, and may conduct research. 2.
  • As an outpatient provider for the Community Living Center, the incumbent provides neuropsychological and psychological evaluations, psychological services, and consults with peers, medical center staff, the polytrauma team, geriatric mental health team, and/or others as appropriate. 3.
  • The incumbent will diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological and/or neuropsychological assessments, may provide treatment for mental disorders through a variety of modalities, and may provide adjunctive interventions for improvement of medical disorders for residents of the Community Living Centers. 4.
  • The incumbent consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues as warranted. 5.
  • As with all clinical psychologists, the incumbent is expected to be available for involvement with training and/or clinical supervision as needed.
  • Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.

  • Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year).
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Virtual: This is not a virtual position Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
