About the Role

About the Position: Incumbent Serves as Deputy to Director J6 for Special Operations Command - Korea (SOCKOR), with full authority and sharing responsibilities for current operations, future operations, and deliberate planning. What You'll Do

  • Action officer for Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Department of Defense (DoD), Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and US Forces Korea (USFK) policies governing Information Assurance (IA), Network Operations, and C4I/CYBER functions.
  • Provides expertise and leadership in all matters regarding J6 programs, initiatives, and resources.
  • Supervises project management functions to determine network administrative and technical requirements.
  • Supervises all decisions pertaining to transportation, equipment, and supplies necessary to execute the daily operational goals of the organization.
  • Leads cross-functional joint planning groups in support of the command’s operations, activities, and actions.
  • Develops contingency plans to ensure continuous availability and accessibility of network resources in event of emergency.
  • Supervises subordinate staff across different directorates to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Conducts cost-benefit analyses and total cost of ownership and capacity studies.
  • Represents the organization during conferences, meetings, and seminars as required.
  • Perform supervisory personnel management functions that include approving the performance objectives and counseling of the employees.
  • Manages study summaries for comparison of alternatives pertinent to the economic justification of costs, time, and equipment usage.
