About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Social Worker at the Amarillo VA Health Care System to oversee the administration and management of the VA Medical Center's Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC). The social worker will work as the leader of the PRRC interdisciplinary team and will have a major responsibility for evidence-based assessment and treatment in this program.
What You'll Do
- →Examples of these interventions include but are not limited to: Social Skills Training (SST), CBT for depression, and motivational enhancement therapy.
- →Provides recovery-oriented treatment with the goal of establishing the Veteran independently in the community at the Veteran's highest level of functioning and quality of life.
- →Serves as Recovery Coach for Veterans enrolled in the PRRC.

- →Work Schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday Telework: AD-HOC telework available Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
