As an IT Specialist (Applications Software) with the US Office of Personnel Management, Products and Data Engineering Divisions, you will serve as a senior software engineer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, modernizing, and sustaining enterprise application systems and services that support OPM mission requirements.
What You'll Do
- →Architect, design, develop, implement, and modernize enterprise application systems that support mission-critical organizational requirements.
- →Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, including establishing engineering approaches, development standards, and delivery strategies.
- →Evaluate, integrate, and support adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation, to improve application functionality and organizational effectiveness.
- →Resolve cross-system application, architecture, integration, performance, security, and interoperability issues affecting major systems or services.
- →Develop technical roadmaps, standards, design principles, and integration strategies for application systems or portfolios.
- →Communicate technical recommendations, risks, tradeoffs, and modernization approaches to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- →Ensure application development and technology integration activities comply with federal information technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance requirements.
