About the Role
This position is located in the Department of the Treasury, Departmental Offices (DO), Assistant Secretary for Management/CFO, Office of Strategy, Planning, and Performance Improvement (OSPPI). OSPPI sets departmental organizational performance and evidence building policy and provides agency-wide internal management consulting services in operations strategy, implementation, and continuous process improvement. .
What You'll Do
- →The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14.
- →If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- →Advise the Chief Evaluation Officer on Department-wide development and implementation of evidence, research, and evaluation policy, including implementation of research and evaluation standards, scientific integrity, and evidence-building policy.
- →Assist in identifying and addressing gaps in Treasury's evidence-building infrastructure and capabilities, including building and strengthening Treasury-wide evidence-building capabilities and community of practice.
- →Advise on and provide technical assistance to Treasury programs, policy offices, and bureaus on program and policy design, including the evaluation of such programs (such as using social science methods, evaluation design, and analysis), performance reporting, and data collection.
- →Perform research and/or evaluation projects on range of Treasury related topic areas, such as issues in social sciences, economics, political sciences, behavioral sciences, tax policy, management and operation sciences, among others, as part of implementing the Treasury Learning Agenda.
- →Documentation of research process, findings, and implications, including drafting of reports, analysis summaries, case summaries where appropriate.
- →Apply and uses varied qualitative and quantitative research methods and visualizations including with the use of statistical software, including R, Stata, and Power BI.
- →Examples of qualitative methods include but are not limited to survey coding, conducting multi-level stakeholder interviews, recording observations, conducting focus groups, documenting analysis, service blueprinting, and journey mapping.
