About the Role
This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST), Position Description Number D2161000 and is part of the OH 121 Air Refueling Wing, Ohio Air National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the subject matter expert in managing the SF Squadron program to include Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) deployments, formal training programs, and readiness and emergency management.
What You'll Do
- →As a SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST), GS-0080-9, you will perform the following duties: 1.
- →Reviews all operations, mobility, contingency, and exercise plans to ensure combat readiness for the SF Squadron.
- →Analyzes exercise and contingency plans to determine required SF actions in support of mission requirements.
- →Evaluates all equipment, manning and training requirements to meet wartime, contingency, deployment, and pre-planned tasking.
- →Coordinates with other base organizations on applicable plans.
- →Manages the development of plans for deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and other related plans.
- →Prepares, updates, and reviews the SF portion of the base deployment, disaster preparedness, base recovery, contingency response, and related plans.
- →Coordinates plans and annexes with SF supervisors.
- →Initiates changes, modifications, additions and deletions to personnel and equipment tasking and assignments through the SF Commander for approval.
- →Identifies deficiencies develops, and implements plans for increasing mission readiness.
- →Ensures the SF unit meets requirements for wartime capability and AEF requirements. 2.
- →Responsible for proper security, classification, and storage of classified documents.
- →Compiles information by identifying shortfalls and recommending corrective actions to Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) monitor on the status of SF personnel and training in all three classified reports.
- →Serves as the alternate DRRS monitor. 3.
Requirements
- ✓Ohio Air National Guard Membership is required.
- ✓Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- ✓Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- ✓May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- ✓Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- ✓MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required within one year of the effective date of placement.
- ✓This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
- ✓Applicants who are not currently a member of the Ohio Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

- ✓Military Grades: E5 through E7 Compatible Military Assignments: 3P0X1 Other Requirements: 1.

- ✓This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
