About the Role
Northern Arizona VA Health Care System is looking for a Restorative Nursing Assistant to join the Geriatrics and Extended Care Community Living Center team!
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Confer with Restorative Nurse / PT to discuss and evaluate resident information for planning, modifying, or coordination of treatment Accurately record restorative care given to resident in CPRS / Caribou.
- →Inform Restorative Nurse / PT of improvements or decline in resident condition Participate in training and/or meetings that help facilitate the Restorative Nursing / Therapy department communication process.
- →May attend resident care conferences and family meetings.
- →Assist to develop / revise Restorative Care Plans.
- →Report and document observations Perform ordered therapies or programs in safe and skillful manner as indicated for each resident.
- →Works on small group activities with veterans/residents according to the patients/resident treatment plan.
- →Recognizes the residents' autonomy and promotes independence by means of respect, limit setting and individualized treatment.
- →Actively participates in Treatment Planning Meetings.
- →Utilizes equipment to promote the veteran self-care, such as; lift equipment, and Veteran/Resident Wandering System.
- →Verbally provides patient information to the treatment team for inclusion in the veteran/residents' plan of care, participates in treatment team meetings for resident care planning.
- →Performs nursing procedures within scope of practice and according to policies and standard procedures to care for the veteran for such procedures but not limited to enemas, catheterization, colostomy care, skin care simple dressing, application of braces and prosthetic devices and monitoring of such devices.
- →Work Schedule: Full time.
- →This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments, as this is a 24/7 hospital.
- →Some positions require rotation of tours or indefinite work on non-administrative tours as established by the immediate supervisor.
