About the Role
Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System is a Joint Commissioned accredited Level 1c complexity that consists of a 61-bed hospital located in Muskogee as well as six community based outpatient clinics located in Tulsa, Bartlesville, Claremore, Vinita, McAlester and Idabel. In 2021, Congress approved federal funding for a new Veterans Hospital in Tulsa which will be the first hospital to be built under the Communities Helping Invest through Property and Improvements Needed for Veterans Act of 2016.
What You'll Do
- →The Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to primary care patients.
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Providing direct Veteran care and care coordination, as it pertains, to Veterans and their care within the Primary Care Department.
- →Managing assigned panel(s), utilizes registries, and ensures appropriate evaluation and access is provided to patient panels.
- →Providing health promotion, health education and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management.
- →Assisting in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.
- →Demonstrating leadership in delivering and improving holistic, primary care through collaborative strategies with others.
- →Evaluating practice in an ongoing process, based on best evidence.
- →Contributing professional outpatient nursing perspective in discussions with the interdisciplinary team.
- →Partnering with others to effect change and produce optimal outcomes.
- →Supporting colleagues through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality outpatient nursing care.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
