About the Role
This Registered Nurse - Nurse Manager - position is with the Nursing Service located in the Urgent Care Unit at the Jamaica Plain location. There is one full-time position available at 40 hours per week.
What You'll Do
- →The individual selected will be accountable for adhering to established standards of care and practice, policies and procedures and in demonstrating leadership to improve patient care at the unit level.
- →He/She is responsible for the administration, management, supervision and evaluation of patient care personnel.
- →The individual selected will be active in orienting, educating, coaching and mentoring staff, will possess strong clinical skills and will motivate staff utilizing staff input to develop a strong team atmosphere on the unit.
- →He/She will deal effectively with staff conflict, effectively communicate with all levels of staff and maintain excellent relationships with support staff.
- →Work Schedule: Day shift Compressed/Flexible: May be Authorized Telework: Ad-Hoc Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
- →Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized Financial Disclosure Report: Not Required Notifications: This is not Bargaining Unit position.
- →Current or former employees must submit copies of their most recent Sf-50, (Notice of Personnel Action).
- →The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
- →In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held.
- →This position is in the Excepted Service.
- →Veterans preference does not apply for other current permanent Federal agency employees.
- →May be subject to satisfactory completion of our credentialing process.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
