About the Role
Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLVAHCS) is seeking 1 highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Clinic (LAACC). The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care based on assessment, including age specific components. Located in downtown LA. Los Angeles CA.
What You'll Do
- →Typical duties include but are not limited to: Promotes a Just Culture environment in building a climate for effective performance while allocating available resources to promote safe, efficient, effective, and quality nursing/patient care.
- →Observes and evaluates the quality of nursing care provided including interdisciplinary patient rounds, reviewing nursing documentation in clinical records, and collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data related to the delivery of patient care.
- →Assure the compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards of practice AORN and implementation of required actions to meet Performance Measures.
- →Provides leadership in the application of the nursing process to patient care, organizational processes and systems, and improves outcomes at the program or service level.
- →Initiates an educational plan to meet changing program or service needs for self and staff.
- →Implements an educational plan to meet changing programs or service needs for self and others.
- →Maintains knowledge of current techniques, trends and professional issues.
- →Coaches colleagues in team building.
- →Contributes to the strategic planning process, day-to-day operations, Logistics Management, Budget, Staffing, Human Resource actions, Hiring and attainment of goals of the organization.
- →Demonstrates leadership by involving others in improving care.
- →Establishes and communicates workplace priorities and makes assignments accordingly.
- →Skillfully performs in rapidly changing, atypical or crisis situations.
- →Communicates and enforces policies and procedures, including nursing guidelines, IT & HIPAA policy.
- →Ensures administrative action is completed timely, accurately, consistently, and fairly.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
