About the Role
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurses at all levels to join our Resource Float Pool team. This intermittent position requires the individual to work 2 (8-hour) shifts per pay period. The selected candidates will be responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
What You'll Do
- →Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive assessments, plan care, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes based on age-specific components.
- →Coordinate care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Administer medications and perform procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- →Influence care outcomes by collaborating with interdisciplinary team members.
- →Execute position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and innovative approaches to complex client care.
- →Functions and Scope of Assigned Duties: As a member of the Resource Float Pool, the RN (across all levels) will: Demonstrate leadership, experience, and innovative approaches to complex patient care.
- →Collaborate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- →Deliver high-quality care across various patient care areas including the Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, Medical/Surgical Units, Community Living Center/Cottages, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
- →Exhibit knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care specific to patient needs.
- →Provide peers with formal or informal feedback to promote improvement and professional growth.
- →Share knowledge to support colleagues and ensure safe, quality nursing care.
- →Foster a supportive and safe environment conducive to professional development for all healthcare professionals.
- →Lead efforts to overcome care challenges between units in collaboration with management and within the Shared Governance Structure.
- →Evaluate outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes at the individual, group, and population levels.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
