About the Role
The LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) Endoscopy, aligned under Chief of Staff.
What You'll Do
- →The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal procedural care.
- →The focus is on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction.
- →The Endoscopy RN delivers and manages the care of patients undergoing therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy procedures including both inpatients and outpatients.
- →Assesses the patients physical and mental status prior to procedures, educates on procedural and post-procedural care, and documents responses to interventions, findings, and reports any changes.
- →Seeks guidance on how to improve care provided to patients and families.
- →Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient.
- →The nurse brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills.
- →The Endoscopy RN functions in many roles and may include, pre-procedure assessments, post procedural recovery, and assisting physicians during procedures.
- →They maintain proficiency on the maintenance, cleaning, and preparation of endoscopy specific equipment.
- →They recognize changes in patient care situations and initiates appropriate emergency situations.
- →Adapts to changes in the daily schedule.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
