About the Role

This position is located in located in Saguaro National Park. Open to the first 50 applicants or until 08/14/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including Saguaro interpretive activities, hiking trails, etc.
  • Distribute maps and brochures, inform visitors of potential safety hazards, and provide directions.
  • Prepare and complete remittance reports for funds collected and perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S.
  • Treasury regulations governing the handling and remitting of government funds.
  • Review and verify the functionality of new fee related systems or modifications to existing systems as a result of regulatory and program requirements.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of manuals and/or standard operating procedures for the implementation of new and existing system designs and/or modifications.
  • Provide informal and formal training and education to employees, volunteers, interns, cooperating association representatives, etc. regarding automated and non-automated fee processes, systems, software programs, tools, etc.

Requirements

  • Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Direct Deposit participation required.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
  • A uniform allowance will be provided.
  • You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
  • You may be required to travel overnight away from home a couple nights per month.
  • You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
  • There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement.
