About the Role

You will serve as a Recreation Fee Technician with National Park Service. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of technically challenging duties associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations.

What You'll Do

  • Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Perform a variety of technically challenging duties associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations collected from the public.
  • Research or investigate fee transaction errors to determine the adequacy of existing fee systems and technologies.
  • Provide assistance to the higher-level supervisor or manager in the reconciliation of fee and/or donated funds.
  • Process arrivals and departures for reservations made through automated reservation systems.
  • Create, modify, and/or cancel reservations; monitor inventory, quotas, and reservable versus first come, first-served availability.

Requirements

  • Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Direct Deposit participation required.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

  • You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1 nights per month.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment.
  • Employee may need to drive between HALE Summit District and Kipahulu District.
  • Must have a current or obtain within 90 days a Fee SAC in order to collect fees.
  • You are required to wear a uniform and comply with uniform standards.
  • A uniform allowance will be provided.
  • You are required to complete training, obtain and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority.
  • As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period to evaluate your fitness and whether your continuation of employment advances the public interest.
