Annual Salary Range: GS-05: $40,736 (Step 1) to $52,957 (Step 10) - Salary Table 2026-RUS GS-05 Jemez Springs, NM only: $41,178 (Step1) to $53,531 (Step 10) - Salary Table 2026-AQ
What You'll Do
- →Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc.
- →Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S.
- →Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds.
- →Assist higher level personnel with auditing fee collection program components/systems (e.g. cash registers, road/trail registers, honor systems, automated fee machines or AFMs, donation boxes, etc.).
- →Assist in completing audit paperwork and documenting findings.
- →Communicate audit results to supervisor.
- →Prepare and complete remittance reports and bank deposits for funds donated and/or collected by others.
- →Review shift reports and count funds collected; Investigate and proactively resolve routine or recurring discrepancies, and track overages, shortages, and errors.
- →Inventory and/or restock fee program supplies and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for equipment/supplies as needed.
- →Carrying out a wide variety of clerical and technical assignments that involve the application of fee program knowledge of policies, procedures, and practices of fee collection.
- →Depending on duty station, this may be a career-seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures.

Requirements
- ✓Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
