Recreation Assistant (Outdoor Recreation)

About the Role
About the position: This position will be assigned to the Buckley Outdoor Recreation Center. This is a Regular Full Time position that is eligible for benefits such as leave, Medical and Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, 401(k) and Retirement.
What You'll Do
- →Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in planning and scheduling recreation programs and special events (i.e. camp-outs, info fairs) for the Outdoor Recreation Center.
- →Issues rental equipment, checks equipment for damage and instructs patrons on the proper use of the equipment.
- →Registers patrons for activities.
- →Prepares skis for rental to include grinding, sharpening and waxing.
- →Assists with maintenance, repair and cleaning of all recreation equipment.
- →Enters data into POS system for rental and retail inventory, issuing and receiving.
- →Receives payments and monitors the recreational vehicle storage lot, FamCamp and other recreation areas.
- →Sells lift tickets, entertainment, amusement park and special event tickets, and all related inventory, following required cash handling procedures and accountability.
- →Prepares daily cash reports and deposits money on a daily basis.
- →Makes reservations for the FamCamp, picnic areas and all rental equipment.
- →Displays stock and inventory items so that they are easily accessible.
- →Sends out customer confirmations and notifications as needed.
- →Performs duties as driver and/or assistant driver in conjunction with field trips, tours, or other designated activities.
- →Position requires an uncommon tour of duty to include night, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- ✓Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
- ✓This position does not allow for education substitution.
- ✓FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
- ✓You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
- ✓It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
