This position is located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, Naval Support Activity Panama City. The primary purpose of this position is to provide control and assistance in the operation and maintenance of the MWR Auto Skills Program.
What You'll Do
- →In order to qualify for this position, resumes must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the position.

- →MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Upon request, the incumbent will assist patrons only to the extent of absolute knowledge with instructions or advise on repairing automotive vehicles.
- →The incumbent will ensure that he/she does not convey any misleading, incorrect or unsafe information or practice.
- →May supervise patrons using all tools and machines ensuring safety precautions are used.
- →Check tools in and out using a custody receipt to ensure their return.
- →Advises customer on safety instructions concerning tools and equipment in the shop and ensure protective equipment is used as required.
- →Operates shop machinery as required, which may include valve grinding, wheel-balancing, timing lights and spark plug cleaning machines.
- →Instructs customers in proper uses of machinery as needed and oversees to ensure safe and appropriate use.
- →Assists with the preventative maintenance, repair and record-keeping of all owned vehicles.
- →Collects and records all fees and sales.
- →Operates cash register and performs all necessary cash recording in accordance with established regional policy.
- →Displays stock and refills displays as necessary.
- →Assists with shop inventory as requested.
Requirements
- ✓Education in lieu of experience is accepted.
- ✓Please ensure to list on resume. 6 months of general experience in customer service and 6 months more in automotive specialized experience.
- ✓Knowledge of automotive tools and equipment and their proper, safe use and maintenance.
- ✓Ability to read technical manuals for tools and equipment and learn shop equipment within 90 days of hire.
