This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the JBSA Fort Sam Houston Riding Stables. This is a Flexible category position with guaranteed 00 hrs. per week, may work up to 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a Flexible category position are not eligible for benefits.
What You'll Do
- →Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialist in the operation and maintenance of indoor and outdoor recreational facilities.
- →Work alone or as a member of the work crew.
- →Issues horses and/or mules to authorized patrons based on capabilities of riders.
- →Assists in saddling and unsaddling horses before & after trail rides.
- →Serves as the weekend trail guide.
- →Feeds government and privately owned horses.
- →As directed, conducts safety checks on equipment.
- →Assist in maintaining the facility and equipment to include but not limited to stall cleaning.
- →Duties will also include assisting in the front office, answering phone calls or taking payment for services provided.
- →Also performs maintenance of grounds, weeding and mowing Equestrian Center grounds.
