About the Role
You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in the MARINE CORPS RECRUITMENT COMMAND of 4TH MARINE CORPS.
What You'll Do
- →You will review and edit purchase requests to ensure the item or service is adequately described based on the requester's need; and ensure all information has been provided and the request is consistent with local and area policies.
- →You will advise requestors on purchases, policies, methods of procurement, and issues with a potential conflict on competition; advise on the best methods of procuring complex, specialized, scientific equipment not normally found on the open market.
- →You will conduct open market negotiations and make competitive or sole source small purchases for complex, non-routine scientific equipment and/or services not commonly available on the open market.
- →You will collect data to determine price reasonableness for new items, prepare detailed written solicitations, and tailor special terms and conditions.
- →You will prepare written solicitation for purchases estimated to meet and exceed the requirements in Federal Business Opportunities to solicit specific sources, build vendor questions, post amendments, and publish solicitation and award notices.
- →You will use Federal and MCD/region acquisition regulations, federal property management regulations, internal procedures and guidelines, and other references to identify possible sources and other pertinent information.
