About the Role

This position is in the Office of Media Relations (OMR), Federal Communications Commission (FCC) located in Washington, DC. This vacancy announcement is limited to the first 100 applications received and will close at 11:59PM Eastern Time on the day that we receive the 100th application, or at 11:59PM Eastern Time on the listed closing date, whichever occurs first.

What You'll Do

  • The position serves as a Public Affairs Specialist responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating public affairs activities associated with assigned Commission initiatives and portfolios.
  • The incumbent performs advanced public affairs assignments involving matters of substantial public visibility and policy significance.
  • The incumbent provides authoritative communications advice on matters that frequently involve nationally visible regulatory initiatives, politically sensitive Commission actions, emerging telecommunications technologies, controversial policy matters, congressional interest, executive branch coordination, crisis communication environments, and rapidly evolving public narratives.

  • Current FCC employees must provide SF-50 verifying grade & status.
  • Resume must not exceed two pages and must meet resume format criteria.
