About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →The Psychology Program Manager serves as the administrative and clinical leader for the Domiciliary-Substance Use Disorder (DOM-SUD) Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program at the Kansas City VA Medical Center.
- →The program is a 24-hour residential setting designed to meet the complex emotional, psychological, behavioral, physical, and social needs of Veterans with substance use disorders.
- →The incumbent provides program oversight, staff supervision, clinical services, and strategic leadership to ensure high-quality, recovery-oriented care.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Program Management Oversees all administrative and operational aspects of the DOM-SUD residential clinical program, ensuring compliance with VHA, VISN, and accrediting body standards.
- →Conducts program evaluation, quality review, outcome measurement, and work-measurement functions to support accountability and continuous quality improvement.
- →Identifies and remedies program deficiencies through systematic analysis of program operations.
- →Serves as liaison between DOM-SUD and internal/external partners, including facility clinics, VISN offices, and VA Central Office.
- →Prepares required reports, maintains program databases, and ensures timely submission of documentation.
- →Participates in strategic planning and development of short- and long-term program goals.
- →Represents the program on local, VISN, and national committees, workgroups, and professional organizations.
- →Clinical Responsibilities Provides psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and psychotherapeutic intervention techniques.
- →Delivers evidence-based treatments, including individual therapy, group interventions, and family engagement services.
- →Tailors therapeutic approaches to meet the mental health, physical health, and recovery needs of Veterans in a residential setting.
- →Ensures an appropriate, safe, and therapeutic treatment environment, requiring tactful oversight of Veterans with complex psychiatric conditions.
