About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • VA Careers - Psychologist: https://youtube.com/embed/77qHlLw9Xck Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Psychology Program Manager is in the Department of Veterans Affairs, Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (VA TVHS), Mental Health Care Line (MHCL), Specialty Section.
  • The Dementia Care Program Manager (DCPM) supervises Geropsychology and Neuropsychology clinical staff at both the Nashville and Murfreesboro campuses, and provides oversight of administrative and programmatic resources.
  • Discipline specific clinical knowledge and administrative knowledge of mental health clinic settings is required.
  • This includes knowledge of contemporary behavioral science theories and practices including evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • The incumbent must possess the analytical ability to research, assemble, and compile information and data, evaluate the results against appropriate standards, and recommend corrective action where indicated.
  • The work requires an ability to plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • The incumbent designates program priorities and objectives and works independent of immediate supervision.
  • Coordinates programming with program managers from other programs in the Mental Health Care Line and across the health system, with responsibility to negotiate service agreements and other forms of collaboration.
  • Collaborates regarding professional oversight by working with discipline leads and providing input in hiring, performance reviews, incentives, and discipline.
  • Duties with the clinical staff include providing clinical consultation in utilizing evidence-based assessment and therapeutic practices and clinical practice guidelines; creating a work environment that acknowledges and respects widely divergent interests, points of views, and discipline perspectives; and providing support, encouragement, and direction to all staff.
  • As a provider of care, the DCPM is a credentialed and privileged Licensed Independent Practitioner who will establish and maintain therapeutic relationships and exercise professional judgment to provide treatment for Veterans and will provide direct patient care.
