About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • VA Careers - Psychologist: https://youtube.com/embed/77qHlLw9Xck Internship Training Director Has direct or indirect (through subordinate supervision) administrative and professional supervision of subordinates 6 psychology interns (OAA Stipends).
  • Provides clinical supervision and instruction for psychology trainees (interns and/or postdoctoral fellows) assigned to the primary work setting.
  • Regularly monitors and evaluates training program performance using objective, data driven outcome measures (e.g., trainee evaluations, supervisor evaluations, program evaluations, exit interviews, didactic feedback forms), as well as verbal feedback from staff and trainees.
  • Analyzes outcome data and generates reports.
  • Effectively identifies and addresses weaknesses and problems.
  • Develops and implements quality and performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Serves on a Psychology Service Committee concerned with oversight of the training program.
  • Holds a faculty appointment at Oregon Health & Science University or other affiliated university that requires accomplishments in clinical supervision, training, and education (clinical or clinician-teacher faculty appointment).
  • Carries ultimate responsibility for internship training program being compliant with applicable local and national regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Seeks and maintains American Psychological Association (APA) accreditation for the psychology internship training programs; prepares accreditation and re-accreditation applications (i.e. , self -studies) and is in charge of preparing for, organizing and facilitating accreditation site visits (i.e., audits).
  • Clinical Responsibilities Provides functional assessments and diagnostic services for Veterans with a broad range of psychopathology who are receiving care within the VA Portland HCS.
  • Demonstrates expertise in using contemporary interview and psychometric assessment methods for mental disorders and/or behavioral health conditions.
  • Provides education to patients and family members regarding mental health disorders and best practice approaches to treatment.
  • Provides evidenced-based psychotherapeutic interventions as indicated and appropriate for the specific job setting and duties of the psychologist, which may include individual, family, and group psychotherapy and psychoeducation.
