About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

What You'll Do

  • Duties include but are not limited to: Program Management (35%): The Program Manager possesses broad-based clinical, administrative, and supervisory knowledge, skills, and abilities that serve to facilitate the successful operation of the DC VAMC HCoE Hub Site.
  • They are responsible for identifying programmatic goals independently and in conjunction with the HCoE Site Director and leadership.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for the day-to-day operations of the HCoE and the transition to Hub site status.
  • Serves as the team point person for consult management and patient care coordination.
  • Prepares and delivers periodic reports to HCoE VA leadership regarding Hub HCoE metrics.
  • Create and implement a non-pharmacological headache practice for the DC VAMC HCoE Hub Site.
  • Interface with national and facility leadership to implement documentation and coding practices in line with national mandates for in HCoE.
  • Lead quality improvement efforts that continuously evaluate and improve aspects of HCoE performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for HCoE for the annual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Headache (CBT-HA) training.
  • Serve on national HCOE Non-Pharmacological Council and be active in their Work Groups.
  • Attend national HCoE meetings and participate actively in national program development and evaluation efforts.
  • Clinical Responsibilities (40%): The DC VAMC HCoE Program Manager will hold clinical privileges for the independent practice of psychology.
  • DC VAMC HCoE Program Manager will provide a full range of psychological services to address headache and pain, coping, and associated mental health concerns.
  • Services may include assessment, consultation, or psychological intervention to promote health, wellness, and improved coping and self-management of illness that incorporate relevant evidence-based practices.
