About the Role

The Program Specialist (Outreach Coordinator) is responsible for the development, planning, coordination, implementation, and oversight for the enterprise facility wide Outreach Program for the Miami VA Healthcare System. This includes education and outreach activities for Veterans located within the three-county Miami VA Healthcare System catchment area.

What You'll Do

  • Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Administratively responsible for the programming and daily operations of the outreach activities.
  • Responsible for developing the annual strategic outreach plan for the medical center with ongoing assessment of activities and performance according to the plan.
  • Develops policies and procedures for program operation and prepares reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use.
  • Responsible for the program's budget and various control points assigned to the program within the assigned areas.
  • Coordinating events hosted by officials, with assistance from continuing educational staff and initiatives when warranted.
  • Manages and controls the use of data related to these programs regarding day to day functioning and program evaluation.
  • Serves as VA liaison with Veterans' Service Organizations, community groups, universities and colleges, and others whose interest is in serving Veterans, their families, and their representatives.
