If selected, you will serve as an Outreach Coordinator in APHIS Animal Care's (AC) Center for Animal Welfare (CAW). The Outreach Coordinator provides education for employees and stakeholders to improve Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and Horse Protection Act (HP) compliance and strengthen AC connections with stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- →The duties described are for the full-performance level.
- →At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Plans and carries out effective local and national outreach efforts to increase the program's ability to fulfill its mission.
- →Establishes and maintains a central repository containing outreach information, and works with Center personnel to maintain factually accurate and up to date/approved presentations.
- →Identifies, prioritizes, recommends, and/or facilitates the development of publications, videos, and other outreach materials when needed, specifically focusing on assisting with public concerns and needs related to animal welfare.
- →Collaborates with various functional units and SMEs to develop outreach focused on a wide variety of animal welfare issues and other emerging hot topics in the field.
- →Identifies, evaluates, and helps resolve program outreach needs and provides recommendations to ensure that program priorities are effectively implemented through the outreach program.
- →Coordinates outreach efforts and opportunities nationally as well as develops and facilitates logistics for large scale symposia events.
- →Provides outreach to trade associations, breeders, brokers, exhibitors, agents, and other stakeholders in support of AC’s Purpose.
