About the Role

Post Baccalaureate Registered Nurse Residency (PBRNR) Program Coordinator at the SFVA Health Care System works under the direction of the PBRNR Program Director to support the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Post Baccalaureate Registered Nurse Residency (PB-RNR) Program, the Registered Nurse Transition to Practice (RN-TTP) Program, and associated nursing workforce pipeline programs, including the Student Nurse Technician and Graduate Nurse Technician programs.

What You'll Do

  • The PBRNR Program Coordinator functions under the direction of the supervisor and is responsible for collaborating in assisting the PBRNR Program in achieving its mission, goals, and expected outcomes as outlined by Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) standards.
  • The PBRNR Program consists of a comprehensive 12-month curriculum built upon standards related to clinical, leadership, and professional dimensions.
  • Incumbent is accountable for multiple facets of education, training and professional and organizational development within the larger strategy of promoting a learning culture across the system.
  • Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Program Management and Oversight: Coordinating educators, content experts or resident facilitators for residency program didactic sessions.
  • Coordinating a mentoring program for the nurse residency programs.
  • Coordinating and implementing preceptor training for all preceptors working with nurse residents in the nurse residency programs.
  • Communicates promptly with the PBRNR Program Director regarding any program, resident, or stakeholder concerns.
  • Participating in monthly Office of Nursing Services (ONS) and Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) updates/education calls.
  • Coordinating in collaboration with the PBRNR Program Director, a graduation or recognition ceremony at completion of the residency programs.
  • Program Evaluation: Support data gathering on residents, preceptor, and stakeholder evaluation completion in collaboration with the PBRNR program Director to demonstrate program effectiveness and stakeholder's satisfaction.
  • Coordination and oversight of nurse resident and preceptor evaluation form completion for internal program evaluation and as determined by Office of Nursing Services (ONS) and Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA).
  • Support the PBRNR Program Director with the annual report for internal and external stakeholder requirements.
  • Completing ONS and OAA reports and data requests by the deadlines set.
  • NOTE: Shifts may vary depending on patient care needs.

Requirements

  • Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

  • Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

  • Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
  • You may be required to serve a probationary period.
