About the Role
The Physician Assistant (PA) is directly accountable to the Section Chief of Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) and the Service Chief of Geriatrics/Long Term Care (LTC). The incumbent works collaboratively with the Geriatrics/LTC Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) team and is charged with providing quality care to all eligible Veterans in a safe and therapeutic environment.
What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
- →Duties may include but are not limited to; Providing geriatric primary care in the Veteran's home as part of the HBPC team.
- →Providing clinical and administrative leadership for the satellite HBPC program at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), serving as primary management point of contact for the HBPC Medical Director and Program Manager/Coordinator.
- →Adhering to established Medical Center policies, procedures, and VA directives.
- →Demonstrating leadership and accomplishment in supporting the supervising physician, Chief of Geriatrics/LTC, and providing assistance to representatives of various departments/services within the VA.
- →Implementing and complying with administrative review of service operations to assure compliance with all internal and external review requirements.
- →Clinical management of patients, including skills for stabilization of acute complications and initiation of basic life support.
- →Patient education conducted interactively, requiring good interpersonal skills.
- →Accountability for all clinical duties and assignments as delegated by the attending physician and Chief of Geriatrics/LTC.
- →Demonstrating leadership as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- →Other tasks and duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: Full time. 7:30am to 4:00pm.
- →This position requires flexibility in schedule and assignments, as we provide a 24/7 service.
- →Telework: Not available.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
