About the Role

Provides comprehensive urologic care across outpatient and procedural settings. Evaluates and manages acute and chronic conditions, performs histories and physicals, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, develops treatment plans, prescribes therapies, assists with procedures, educates patients and families, coordinates multidisciplinary care, and supports quality, safety, and evidence-based practice.

  • Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Evaluates and manages patients with acute and chronic urologic conditions through comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments.
  • Orders, reviews, and interprets laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures to support diagnosis and treatment decisions.
  • Develops, implements, and modifies individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, clinical findings, and established standards of care.
  • Prescribes medications, treatments, and other therapeutic interventions within approved scope of practice.
  • Performs and assists with urologic procedures and other clinical interventions appropriate to training, privileges, and patient needs.
  • Provides follow-up care, monitors treatment response, and adjusts care plans based on patient progress and changing clinical conditions.
  • Educates patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, procedures, preventive care, and self-management.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate safe and effective patient care.

  • Pre-Employment/Post-Employment Physical Examination: May be required, depending on the needs of the organization.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
  • You may be required to serve a probationary period.
