This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →The Physician Assistant for Surgery will support Surgical Service for care of adult and geriatric Veterans at the VA Boston Healthcare System.
- →Duties will include, but are not limited to: Provide pre-op evaluation (H&P, risk screening, documentation).
- →Order basic diagnostic tests; review results with provider.
- →Participate in inpatient consults and routine post-op rounds.
- →Assist in procedures and OR cases as approved in privileges.
- →Coordinate discharge planning, patient/family education, and follow-up scheduling.
- →Collaborate with nursing, anesthesia, case management, rehabilitation, and ancillary services.
