About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within 4 months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties and responsibilities of the Physician Assistant (Primary Care) are: Provide comprehensive care for Veterans for a panel of patients or same-day access.
- →Perform initial histories and physical examination on outpatients.
- →Provide ongoing outpatient care for assigned patients.
- →Screen outpatients to determine the need for further care.
- →Prescribe medications within the defined scope of practice.
- →Order diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms.
- →Review need for and order health promotion and disease prevention measures.
- →Initiate, respond to, and expedite request for consultations, special tests and studies.
- →Provide education and counseling of patients and families in preventative care, medical conditions, and use of prescribed treatments and drugs.
- →VA offers a comprehensive Total Rewards Package.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm; subject change based on facility needs.

- →EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
Requirements

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
