The PA is responsible for prescribing medical treatment and providing personal care services to the veteran population. Care is based on Veterans Health Administration, and national standards and outcomes research. Duties include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition, collaborating with medical management team members to facilitate patient care outcomes, and providing a full range of physician assistant care to patients with a variety of physical problems.
What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
- →Work Schedule: 07:30 am to 4:00pm, Schedule will be coordinated by your Supervisor Telework: Ad-hoc only Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
- →The physician assistant serves as a plastic surgery assistant at the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS).
- →Obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations (H&Ps).
- →Ordering and administering vaccines Ordering ancillary services, including pharmacy, social services, physical medicine and rehabilitation therapies, prosthetic services, etc.
- →Ordering VA specialty consults and initiating requests for non-VA (fee basis or community care) consults, in accordance with VHA and local facility policy and procedures Additional duties as assigned.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
