About the Position: This position falls under Defense Health Agency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Directorate of Medicine and requires obtaining patient medical history, prescribing medication and determining appropriate medical treatment. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Performs medical screening examinations in an inpatient or outpatient setting for patients of all ages.
- →Secures health and medical history from the patient or family member, records findings and makes clinical evaluation.
- →Examines patients and performs initial patient work-up and assessment of patients' care and treatment, and determines the need for and orders laboratory tests, X-rays and other procedures necessary to complete assessment of the patient.
- →Prescribes for and treats a variety of diseases, disorders and injuries.
- →Treats patients returning for routine or directed follow-up and treatment of chronic illnesses previously documented in patients' medical records Writes routine orders on outpatients; perform medical histories; and dictates narrative summaries.
- →Assess educational needs and level of understanding of patients and families and determines the best approach to fully meet the learning requirements using appropriate training techniques.
